When you were going out with your future husband, how long did it take people to start asking you if you were engaged yet?
After that, people wanted to know the wedding date. Then they asked when you’d be having your first baby. And now that you’ve finally had the baby, you have to face people’s questions about when you’re going to go back to your normal weight. After pregnancy, many women feel that they have to lose all that extra weight quickly. This can make life very difficult. It seems like you’re being pulled in two different directions, as you want to be sure you and your baby are getting enough nutrients, while you are also supposed to lose all that baby weight. How are you supposed to handle this?
Don’t be in too much of a hurry. It’s hard to be patient, of course, when you read about celebrities who have babies and are miraculously back to their ultra-thin selves within weeks. Unlike most women, they have hired help to attend to their babies while they go to the gym. They are in a position to spend their days doing specialized exercises and eating in restaurants that serve exactly the kind of food that matches their diets.
Unless you have access to these resources, it’s not realistic to expect the same kind of results. You have to be satisfied with losing weight at a pace that’s appropriate for you, not someone else. You need to eat lots of “super” foods. Such foods are typically loaded with nutrients but lack the usual fat and cholesterol. It is good to note these foods should be a part of every diet but especially for a woman trying to lose weight after pregnancy. These allow you to eat alot withouth worrying about unnecessary empty calories that would only cause your body to store them up as fat. Fatty foods will only compound the problem of extra padding after pregnancy while you are breastfeeding and healing.
Don’t stress about it but make an effort to work on losing it. People who fail at losing weight after pregnancy are more likely to become overweight or even obese later in life. If you find that you are having trouble shedding your extra pounds, talk to your doctor. It may become necessary for you to meet with a nutritionist who can help you determine what the lowest number of calories you can take in and still keep baby healthy too while helping shed those pounds. At no other time in your life will the process of losing weight be the same as it can be after pregnancy. After going through child birth the last thing you need is to deplete your nutrients and vitamin intake especially if you are breastfeeding so limiting your caloric intake is not a good idea. You will likely not have enough time for a workout either because your time is dedicated to caring for your newborn. The good news is that, often, weight loss happens naturally. You should definately try these tips if the weight loss isn’t natural or forthcoming. Stay patient, If your desire is to fit back into a favorite pair of jeans it can happen.
